“I am afraid for you” and other ways people sabotage your business.
I rather be homeless and figure it out. I have heard this statement from several entrepreneurs and current business owners. Weirdly enough comfort and extreme growth do not mix.
your parents want you to a safe life. if you choose something radical then you could be hurt, injured or die.
Had friend flipping houses and owned his own place, his parents even after he made 50,000 dollars were over the top harassing him about getting a job. years later his parents still say he missed out on going to the military when you were young.
I had a friend at college who hated it. My friend stayed for about 3 years, packed up moved to Virginia got a new job and then finally called his parents and told them he quit school. They were outraged and upset. They still think he should go back even if online to finish degree.
If you don’t go to work or school
You won’t be able to have a normal life
You wont be able to get married
You wont be able to have kids
You wont be able to LIVE.
You don’t want to be away from your family. Spend 5 out of your 7 days with other business owners. Other people who are still DEEP in the JOB culture will minimize and diminish what you do, because they can not wrap their head around your life.
Take a cruise at the end of the year to live a bit.
You need space and independence
My family became emotional sabotage complaining day and night about missing time with family. Trying to force you under their control.
- Get space.
- Don’t ask for MONEY.
- TALK about it DAY and NIGHt.
I remember having a part time job at lowes and papa johns. I made a bunch of money and all they could say go back to your part time jobs. you have no job you will die.
Many friends and family want to be entrepreneurs but have a wife, friends or family sabotaging them.
When people tell you they are scared for you… they aren’t really… you are doing something NON conventional…and it scares them. nothing wrong with FEAR..just keep it to yourself.
Several businesses later I still get the same face and questions from family. I truly believe until you make a million dollars or look like a different person your family will not change their view of you. WHY? because they will always see you as that same kid or cousin or sibling and IF their life hasn’t changed that dramatically then NO way yours can.
